Remember that episode where there was a trial about whether Data qualified as human. Verdict - HUMAN. Picard used sciencey words to prove it.Diggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05483518154115793340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1866229763096892118.post-26425508946352784642009-04-20T20:01:00.000-05:002009-04-20T20:01:00.000-05:00Science is also the nerd from Flight of DragonsScience is also the nerd from Flight of DragonsDiggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05483518154115793340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1866229763096892118.post-91887746105662788022009-04-20T12:40:00.000-05:002009-04-20T12:40:00.000-05:00if you're referring to "admiral ackbar is my copil...if you're referring to "admiral ackbar is my copilot" then it is a trap indeed.the unbeatable kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07837510231614022057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1866229763096892118.post-34034406551061545252009-04-20T01:22:00.000-05:002009-04-20T01:22:00.000-05:00"It's a TRAP""It's a TRAP"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1866229763096892118.post-42610805484719891652009-04-19T22:36:00.000-05:002009-04-19T22:36:00.000-05:00At its core, science is a *method* of knowing, bas...At its core, science is a *method* of knowing, based on the idea that observation and experimentation are unsurpassed as means of discovering truth. It emerged as a formal discipline during the Renaissance and was a revolutionary way of looking at the world because it allowed individuals the ability to seek and discover knowledge on their own, and specifically, outside the Church. Anyone can formulate hypotheses and seek evidence to support them. But what distinguishes a scientific from a non-scientific discipline is the "testability" of the hypothesis. If you cannot design experiments to exclude alternative hypotheses to explain the same phenomenon or pattern, then it ain't science, baby.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02636381286033865267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1866229763096892118.post-8135432276251956532009-04-19T21:23:00.000-05:002009-04-19T21:23:00.000-05:00and not data?
